..."You're Awesome John Claude Bemis"

I love your books. My mother's family is from North Carolina (Burlington & Fayetteville) and I went to Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem. Waffle House and NC barbecue are near and dear to my heart.

Thank you for including the folklore I grew up listening to in your books. My bedtime stories were southern stories full of those legends and that americana lore. Thank you for breathing life to those tales and giving them new dimensions. And thank you for the brown characters you have in your fantasy stories. They are invisible in a lot of children's and teen fantasy and as a child I grew up thinking people who look like me or my mom or dad didn't go through cupboards or meet mermaids or slay magical beasts. Most of all thank you for having the courage to write about that and include them.

And Middle Grade Ninja you rock.
Peace,
Dhonielle Clayton
teenwritersbloc.comDhonielle Claytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06281012962923518262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6761561884803703643.post-712053633213410232011-01-06T20:55:45.870-05:002011-01-06T20:55:45.870-05:00“You’re Awesome John Claude Bemis”
